Kait was part of Orchid-Star from 2005 through to 2011 and plays all the violin on the first 2 albums, Birth and Faster. She studied violin at the Royal College of Music and joined Orchid-Star in time for their third gig after a friend asked if we had any spare Glastonbury tickets, we said we were saving one in case we found a fiddle player in time - he said, 'I know one, we said they need to have an electric violin and he said 'We just bought her one for her birthday'!

Her mix of virtuosity and lush lyricism is an even more vital a part of Faster than it was on Birth, especially after Becky, who joined playing marimba at the same time as Kait, said to 'write some hard stuff' for her and Kait to play, leading to Faster becoming what Kait's successor described as 'like one long violin concerto!'
